Beginner Tip

All new players need to learn about four basic things.

#1 - Disc golf is about having fun and enjoying yourself at one of the coolest competitions in the world today; never forget that is why we play.

#2 - If you really want to be good, you should spend more time throwing on the practice field than on the course.

#3 - (and a mistake I, unfortunately made) Learn to throw the discs that match your arm speed and ability first.  As you get better form, better snap, and better arm speed, then move to faster and faster discs.  When I teach beginners, I give them a putt/approach disc and a mid-range disc to learn with.

#4 - Being able to putt well not only can take a few strokes off your score, it will also open more possibilities and change the way you mentally size up each hole.

Most Memorable Moment

My most memorable moment happened in Emporia. In 2016, I won my division at the GBO, and took home one of those coveted glass-blown trophies. Wow!

In The Bag

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Defender

The most predictable distance driver out there, bar none. The Defender is especially valuable in windy conditions and other weather.

Dynamic Discs Lucid/Fluid Escape

My go to driver. Anything straight, hyzer, and anhyzer under 400'.

Latitude 64 Opto Bolt

Long anhyzers and S-shot distance.

Latitude 64 Snow Ballista

Long distance straight shots.

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Enforcer

Long distance hyzers and headwinds.

Westside Discs Tournament Hatchet

Tight gaps, longer finish-right-and-hold shots, and long rollers.

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Felon

Best overstable fairway driver by far. Very predictable finish.

Latitude 64 Gold Trident

Utility/get out of trouble, short sidearms, and headwind mids.

Westside Discs Tournament Queen

Max distance rollers. That’s all I use it for.

Dynamic Discs Fuzion EMAC Truth

Control shots that stay on the line.

Dynamic Discs Classic Blend Slammer

The Slammer is great for hyzer and wind approach shots. It finishes predictably left without skipping at all.

Westside Discs VIP Tursas

Short turnovers under 300', control woods shots, and short rollers.

Dynamic Discs Fuzion Evidence

Midrange control and woods shots.

Dynamic Discs Classic Blend Warden

Driving putter for anything 275' and in as well as straight approaches.

Dynamic Discs Prime Deputy

Great for turnover putter shots and extremely tight woods.

Dynamic Discs Classic Warden

Chain-grabber with great feel. My putter of choice.
