TRAINING: Throw every driver in my bag away from my practice basket on a big hyzer. Return every single shot with an accurate forehand, attempting to park the hole. The big hyzer on the backhand limits the distance from the basket, allowing me to practice placement with the forehand. It also allows me to work on arm speed and power without having to chase my discs as far. Putt with 3 putters from every single lie created by the forehand return shots. As a staggered stance putter, I putt any comebackers on misses from a straddle stance to keep my putting game balanced. I finish the routine with 100 putts from a spot that I feel 90% confident from (in my case: 21 feet), attempting to hit them all.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A TOURNAMENT?
Right now I'm working a profession that allows little time for practice, and my location keeps me far from a course. I prepare for a tournament by working in a field as much as I can, on any off time from work that I have. Lunch break? Putt. Break before teaching a night class? Drives in the field. At home and not enough daylight to drive 45 minutes to a course? Full routine.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE TOURNAMENTS?

PERSONAL DISC GOLF GOALS: Win some NTs, STs, and cash high at USDGC. Hit 1020 by 2012 Worlds in Charlotte.

ROLE MODELS/INFLUENCES:
My father. He isn't a disc golfer, but he was my biggest influence when I ran track through high school and college. He kept on me to work, harped on what would happen if I took breaks from training, and made sure that everything I did when I trained was for a particular reason. Every one of those things, and more, translated over to disc golf and translate well into every aspect of my life.

ADVICE: Practice. Constantly. They say that 10,000 hours working on something is what it takes to master it. Get those 10,000 in as fast as possible. Spend the time constructively, set up a planned routine and stick with it.
