Beginner Tip

  • Watch the pros, see what they all have in common.
  • Slow yourself down, don't be concerned with how far the disc goes, very slow and deliberate.
  • Learn to spin the disc. Once you get better at spinning it, then learn how to use your body to get the disc moving forward and still keep it spinning. Keep it slow.

Most Memorable Moment

I remember the calmness of the morning. It was the second round of the 2010 World Championships. I warmed up like normal, I was very relaxed and knew since it was the second round of Worlds, there was a lot of golf left to be played. I remember telling myself, if you get a birdie, just forget about it and keep playing. One birdie isn't going to take you to the top, it's going to take many. I set up every shot and executed it just as pictured it in my head. I found myself perfect after 10 holes. You couldn't have shot them any better unless you aced or fairway aced. I missed my next putt when I realized what I was doing. I managed to stay somewhat focused for the remaining 7 holes and shot a 44. I came in and started eating lunch. I knew the score was good, but when I found out I shot the hot round and moved from 16th card to 3rd card, it was the best feeling of accomplishment I've ever felt from disc golf. If it was only that easy for every round!

In The Bag

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Trespass

It goes far with glide. Also, it will hold any line you put it on with straight glide and then fade out at the end of the flight. It is very consistent and reliable. The feel of the BioFuzion plastic makes for a perfect fit in my hand and I love to throw this disc!

Westside Discs VIP Giant

This is a very overstable driver. I throw it when I absolutely can't risk turning a disc over. This disc is a must for windy days because of its stability and speed. Also a great sidearm driver, stable and reliable.

Dynamic Discs Fuzion Trespass

A little less stable than the BioFuzion Trespass, I use this one for the long drives when it isn't very windy or there is a tail wind.

Latitude 64 Gold Villain

The Villain doesn't quite go as far as my Trespass, but is also a very reliable, straight, long range driver.

Latitude 64 Gold Trident

The Trident is a great fairway driver. Stable for control but has reliable glide for shots in the 275-350' range.

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Escape

The Escape is an amazing disc. You can throw it on any angle and it will hold that line for the entire flight. A slow turn throughout the flight makes it good for straight shots. The glide makes it ideal for turnover shots or long hyzerflips. The speed is slightly above a fairway driver speed but below a long range driver, filling the gap for anything in the 350-400' range.

Dynamic Discs BioFuzion Fugitive

I love this midrange disc. It flies so straight. Point and shoot, the Fugitive is on the run!

Latitude 64 Opto Pain

The Pain is a stable midrange that you can throw in the wind or calm and it is going to fly stable. Throw it really hard and expect a straight as an arrow flight that eventually dumps out, stables up, and falls to the ground.

Dynamic Discs Lucid Fugitive

The Lucid Fugitive flies a little less stable than the BioFuzion Fugitive. The glide is great and it has a reliable slow turn.

Latitude 64 Zero Medium Mercy

The Mercy has a stable, reliable, straight flight and is great for throwing. I also putt with the EZE Mercy.

Dynamic Discs Classic Judge

The Classic Judge has a reliable, straight flight path with a gradual turn. It is excellent for upshots and long range short throws.

Westside Discs BT Soft Swan 1 Reborn

The Swan is good for short, straight upshots and long range putts. Lots of glide and turn. Go-to long range putter.
