The number one priority for growing the sport is the availability of public disc golf courses near major cities.
🔥 That's why we donated 75 of our best baskets for disc golf course installation in different regions of Mexico and Belize.
The best way to build thriving disc golf communities is by having recurrent competitive events.
🏆 That's why we helped coordinate five record-breaking tournaments and sponsored more than 300 player packs containing hats, towels, sunglasses, and (of course) premium customized discs.
🎒 We provided 80 event-specific custom Paratroopers—one bag for every player registered to play the Abierto Mexico Cocoyoc 2022.
🤝 We added disc golf's first-ever sponsored players from Mexico to our roster, providing them with the tools to improve at the sport. ¡Vamos equipo!
🇨🇴 We created a unique DyeMax design for the Colombian national team's fundraiser disc to benefit their travel to the 2022 World Team Disc Golf Championships in Croatia.
👊 We sponsored Mexico's first-ever PDGA B-Tier tournament in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. There, professional touring players competed for the title at the 2023 MX Disc Golf Championship.
All of that was exciting and fun to deliver, but the real treat was watching the mission accomplished one step at a time—and the numbers that followed:
📈 New PDGA member registrations from Mexico skyrocketed in 2022, accounting for a 2.4X increase compared to the prior year.
🥇 Mexico saw a 333% increase in the number of PDGA-sanctioned events in 2022, and 69% of all events ever played in Mexico took place last year—we sponsored a vast majority of them.
🏋🏽 Another stat that mirrors the increase in the number of players is the spike in practice rounds recorded on UDisc in 2022. (Thanks, UDisc, for providing this eye-opening report.)
With help from members from various disc golf communities, we drew the attention of local governments, public parks, and universities to invest in this new sport.
Our support for our Mexico team and local disc golf events throughout Latin America continues in 2023—and we invite you to partner with us in that effort.
To that end, we proudly introduce a new line of discs.
This set of five commemorative discs honors cities in Mexico with a growing disc golf community, a disc golf course, and a Mexican Disc Golf Tour stop.
Each disc displays a famous city icon, the Spanish translation of the disc mold, and the name of the home tournament in each location.
When placed side-by-side, the five discs draw the image of Quetzalcoatl, a Prehispanic god representing the union of all the regions of ancient Mexican culture.
Portions of the sales generated from these discs will fund Grow the Sport efforts in Mexico and Latin America in 2023.

Local Tournament | El Torneo del Pavo
El Torneo del Pavo is the longest-standing disc golf event in Mexico, with four events in total.
The tournament has historically been played at Parque Rufino Tamayo, the oldest course in Mexico. However, the 2023 edition of this tournament is expected to be played on at least two courses featuring professional-grade Dynamic Discs Veteran baskets.
Disc golf has a bright future ahead.
One day, Mexico will have a stop on the pro tour, Colombia and other countries will host a disc golf tour of their own, and we will see a Latin America-born champion at a big event.
With your help, we are not just saying "Grow the Sport," but we actually get to do it.
Thank you all for the support.
