The Opto Sapphire is a great disc for folks with average power. It has better-than-advertised glide and enough stability to handle moderate wind.
The low profile is good for smaller hands, especially on backhand shots.
New to the game and picked this up and am very happy so far!
Don't compare this to a Diamond. Yes its in the easy to throw line, but this mold is meant for distance in a way the diamond isn't. I have struggled to generate consistent backhand power. I have played for 3 years but have not had the time to fix enough in my form to unlock 300ft consistently. Until the Sapphire. I can step up to holes at tournaments I used to have to go overhand or flick on and confidently lay out a 300+ ft back hand. The Sapphire is light enough with enough turn that when I throw it flat I get a flex line, but stable enough that when put on hyzer it will always finish left after pushing out 275+. It is so great to have a flip up Driver in my bag. At my arm speed this isn't a turn over disc or a roller, it is a consistent flyer with reliable fade. Pick one up. Game changer. 10/10
I got the Sapphire a bit later in my development so it was a bit too light for me but I did find it to be fantastic for looooong turnovers that just got back to flat, or for backhand airshot rollers.
Overall it performs very well. Not as forgiving as the diamond but very predictable and accurate.
Glad I added the Sapphire to my bag.
