Beginner TipPlay with your local disc golf club, and you'll find out how much you can learn from the Professionals, and you'll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you will improve. Secondly, practice and focus on the high-percentage shots first, and seek professional tips on the more challenging shot types. Thirdly, and importantly, when posting on Facebook or asking others which discs to recommend, first provide your arm strength information to avoid receiving responses that may not be helpful to you. Remember that discs may perform differently for those with different arm strengths. And lastly, enjoy the sport, because it's one of the best camaraderie games out there. Most Memorable MomentIt's a tie – (1) It was the most intense I've ever felt on any one shot, during the 2012 Am World Championships. During the Final 9, on the last hole, with a healthy gallery watching, facing a lengthy uphill putt for 2nd place, wind whipping strong in the dreaded 4:30 direction, using maximum time to think, I firmly drilled the putt dead center of chains, and luckily I have the video footage; and (2) Completing an emotionally-charged 13-stroke victory in my division at the 2013 US Masters Championships with my oldest son (professional disc golfer David Muntean III) as my caddie only one week before he began his career as an officer in the Air Force. His guidance was a key to the victory, where we together placed primary emphasis on both visualization and managing your game strategically with patience. What Separates Team Dynamic Discs?Dynamic Discs is the most ambitious, hard-working organization in disc golf and the future is bright. The quality of DD products are amazing, they care sincerely about their customers, and their leadership is in touch with their team members. After a successful 2013, including the US Masters win and another 2nd Place at 2013 Am Worlds, the subsequent honor in joining the DD Team is the one moment that most accelerated my love for the game. They are a first class company, and it feels amazing to be part of their family! In The BagDriversDynamic Discs Lucid FreedomThis high-speed driver is slightly more stable than my Westside Destiny, so for me, choosing to use this depends on the headwind speed. Dynamic Discs Lucid MaverickMy maximum distance for fairway drivers is 290 feet, so this driver gives me the perfect controlled straight shot with a continuous but slight hyzer line. This disc is a sweet complement to my Underworld by providing about 20% more stability. Dynamic Discs Lucid-X TrespassThe perfect big brother to my Lucid Trespass, but beefier and 25% more stable. I’ll deploy this disc primarily for either sharp-turning skip shots, or into strong headwinds. Dynamic Discs Lucid RenegadeAn understable driver with long distance glide with the ability to manipulate a variety of shaped shots. Westside Discs VIP Air KingAs the absolute longest understable driver in my bag, I carry two of these depending on the fade required for the hole, as both have a slightly differently stability. Wind conditions have to be ideal. Westside Discs VIP KingOne of my top understable long distance drivers, it's more stable than my Air Kings, so it has a little fight against the medium headwinds. Latitude 64 Opto Air HavocSlightly more stable than my Air King. Being my arm strength maxes out at 340 feet, this is the driver that keeps me safely in the fairway more consistently and it can fight the moderate headwind. I became a huge fan of several air plastic drivers while competing in the 2014 Japan Open. And it is a great complement to my Latitude 64 Opto Havoc. Westside Discs VIP UnderworldAn understable fairway driver with decent glide that maintains a straight flight with a very slight fade in calm weather. It can be used for firm anhyzer throws. I carry two of these, one slightly more stable than the other. MidrangeDynamic Discs Lucid EvidenceOne of my newest and longer distance midrange discs. I use it for the harder, more aggressive straight-ish shots. Love the grip. Dynamic Discs Lucid EMAC TruthThis disc is structurally sound and has a dependable flight which I use for medium stable drives or upshots under 280'. Dynamic Discs Lucid VerdictMy most stable midrange disc with a dependable flight path and a rim design that allows me to get that long hard hyzer skip. Also great for getting out of trouble. Latitude 64 Gold MaceOne of my primary upshot money discs with a medium stable flight path. I throw this disc most often on holes which allow a hyzer approach to the basket. PuttersDynamic Discs Classic Blend WardenThe Warden has been my primary putter since its release, and I have been very pleased with its consistency. I’m a believer that you will continue to improve by sticking with the same putter types. Latitude 64 Zero Soft SpikeI use this disc for putts that require a straighter path and/or a little more glide and distance. |
